How do I find out my skin type?

Updated: Jan 16

There are a few ways to determine your skin type, but one of the most common methods is the "barefaced test." To do this, cleanse your face and then go about your normal routine for the day, avoiding the use of any makeup or skincare products. At the end of the day, take a look at your skin and observe how it feels and appears.

  • If your skin feels tight and looks dry, you likely have dry skin.

  • If your skin feels oily and looks shiny, you likely have oily skin.

  • If your skin feels balanced and looks neither oily nor dry, you likely have normal skin.

  • If your skin feels oily in some areas and dry in others, you likely have combination skin.

  • If your skin is prone to redness, irritation, and breakouts, you likely have sensitive skin.

Another way is by visiting a Dermatologist who can exam your skin and give you a diagnosis.
